Province Pilgrimage to PolandDay 3. Struggle. Today we travelled to Lublin and visited Majdanek camp Lord, open our lips. And we shall declare your praise. Reflection The mystery of the En-Sof, of God Who is near and Who is far, Who may at times be absent, is always with us. It has been said, "When God's back is towards man, history is Auschwitz" (G. Steiner). Yet in every age there have been those who still reached out to God, the mothers of Israel protecting their children, the fathers pleading with God. The Rav of Slobodka, the girls of the ghetto, the steadfastness of the teachers in the camps is Israel, wrestling with God in the darkness and prevailing. I cried aloud to you, O God; I cried, and you heard me. In the day of my distress I sought you, Lord, And by night I stretched out my hands in prayer. Have you forgotten how to be gracious? Have you withheld your compassion in anger? But then I remember your deeds; I recall your wonders in times gone by. I meditate upon your works And ponder all that you have done. (Psalm 77) I believe, I believe in the sun even when it is not shining. I believe in love even when feeling it not. I believe in God even when God is silent.
